Any Rochester historians (or history students, or enthusiasts) out there that want to see their name in print!? For a while now, I’ve been volunteering on-and-off as an editorial assistant with the Rochester History Journal, a publication produced by the Office of the City Historian in Rochester’s Rundel Library (yes, the one from Ghost Hunters). The publication is a scholarly journal that features works about Rochester’s rich history and culture, both contemporaneously and historically. Since I take part in soliciting submissions for this publication, I thought it might be nice to open the invitation for submissions out to the blog-verse, and hopefully catch the eye of any Rochester history fans who would like to see their work get published! Below you will find a little bit of information about the Journal itself, as well as the information necessary to submit a manuscript. Give it a go!
“Rochester History is a scholarly journal that provides informative and entertaining articles about the history and culture of Rochester, Monroe County, and the Genesee Valley. Former City Historian Blake McKelvey published the first quarterly issue in January 1939 with the goal of expanding the knowledge of local history. Today Rochester History is published biannually (spring and fall) by the Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County.”
